Hash Generator

Generate SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 hashes from text.

Input Text

Enter the text you want to convert into a hash.

About Hashing

A hash function converts input data into a fixed-length string of characters. The same input produces the same hash, while even a small change to the input produces a different result.

SHA-1

160-bit hash

SHA-256

256-bit hash

SHA-512

512-bit hash

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is not uploaded to a server.

About Hash Generator

Generate SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 hashes from text directly in your browser.

How to use Hash Generator

Enter the text you want to hash, select a hashing algorithm, and click Generate Hash. The generated hash can then be copied using the Copy button.

What is Hashing?

Hashing converts input data into a fixed-length string called a hash or digest. A small change in the original input normally produces a significantly different hash value.

SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512

SHA-1 produces a 160-bit hash, SHA-256 produces a 256-bit hash, and SHA-512 produces a 512-bit hash. These algorithms are part of the SHA-2 and SHA-1 families and are commonly used for hashing and data integrity tasks.

Why use a Hash Generator?

A hash generator provides a quick way to calculate hash values without installing additional software or writing code. It can be useful for testing, development, debugging and checking data integrity.

Is the input sent to a server?

No. Hash generation is performed using the browser's Web Crypto API, so the text is processed locally in your browser and does not need to be uploaded to a server.
