What is JSON Diff?
JSON Diff is a comparison tool that checks two JSON values and identifies differences between their structures and values. It can show where properties or array items were added, removed or changed.
Types of JSON differences
Added
A property or array item exists in JSON B but not in JSON A.
Removed
A property or array item exists in JSON A but not in JSON B.
Changed
The value or structure at a JSON path differs between A and B.
What is a JSON path?
A JSON path identifies the location of a value inside a JSON structure. This tool uses paths such as $.name or $.users[0].email to show where a difference was detected.
When should you use JSON Diff?
JSON Diff can be useful when comparing API responses, checking configuration changes, debugging data transformations, reviewing JSON files or verifying whether two structured data sets are identical.
Is my JSON uploaded to a server?
No. The comparison is performed directly in your browser using JavaScript. Your JSON data does not need to be uploaded to a server.
